A Brazilian Butt Lift involves the removal of unwanted fatty deposits via liposuction, followed by contouring and volume enhancement of the buttocks and hips by transferring the removed fat. This augmentation can give a lifted and more rounded appearance. An added benefit for many, includes an overall improvement in the quality of the buttock skin and a possible reduction of the cellulite.
In certain circumstances, a formal excisional buttock lift with actual removal of loose, excessive skin may be required instead, or in addition to, a Brazilian Butt Lift. During this procedure, in the appropriate candidate, buttock augmentation may be achieved by rotating attached fatty tissues above the buttocks downwards into the buttocks.
In select patients, particularly those that have insufficient fatty deposits for a traditional BBL, a "Non-Surgical BBL" may be performed with serial Sculptra(R) injections, in which a micronized product similar to absorbable suture is placed, inducing one's own body to increase collagen production.
In addition to fat transfer to the buttocks and hips, fat may be transferred to the face, and/or hands for rejuvenation of these area, correcting hollowing and deflation due to aging.
